6 Best Corded Phones 2018

If you’re looking for a corded phone to connect to your landline then there are still many great options in today’s largely mobile world. Although corded phones are a thing of the past for the majority of the younger generation, there are still plenty of us that enjoy and prefer picking up a corded phone and taking a call in our office or home. This guide will help you find the best corded phones on the avaliable.

Things to Consider

When considering which phone is right for you there are a lot of features to sort through. The main one of course is how well does the phone actually work? – after all that is why you are buying a new phone!

Corded phones tend to have a better, clearer connection than mobile devices but in certain cases a crackly connection can actually be your line and not the phone itself. In this case you’re best to seek advice from the telecommunications provider who will be able to fix your line and remove the crackling or background noises.

Buying Information

Corded phones were the only way to communicate in years gone by, but are seemingly forgotten relics in our modern age. Yet they are still an essential part of every home, here’s what you’ll need to consider when comparing models:

  • Caller ID. We all like to know who’s calling before we pick up the phone, and we think this is an absolute must for all corded phones.
  • Ringer Volume. Too many phones have low volume ringers that you can never hear until you end up missing the call, make sure your phone has a loud call!

Top 3 Best Corded Phone Reviews

1. AT&T CL4940

This a corded phone with every feature you could ever want. It comes with the standard caller ID that we see on almost all AT & T models, as well as other brands. But what we loved most was the clear backlit display that was incredibly easy to read even in low light situations.

There is also audio assist which is a handy feature rather than trying to read the text on the display as it quickly scrolls past like some cheaper models feature. The extra-loud ringer really is damn loud. It can be heard from quite some distance away, but of course can be turned down if needed. We loved how audible it was – far too many phones are too quiet and can never be turned up, but this isn’t the case with this unit.

During a power outage you can still use the phone for emergency and non-emergency calls, but the extra features such as caller ID and the backlit display only work when the phone has power supplied. This isn’t a bad thing, but it would have been nice to see a rechargeable battery built in that would keep all these features working for the couple of hours that power outages usually last for.

2. AT&T 210M

This is a very simple corded phone, and if you’re looking for a phone that has the core features without all the frill then this is for you. It’s super compact as well and can be easily installed onto a wall or positioned on a desk.

The lighted keypad makes it easy to dial numbers in low light situations and the keys are far enough away from the handset that they aren’t accidentally pressed during calls. There is no LED display and therefore no caller ID, which may put off some buyers.

We loved the simplicity of this phone and really for the very affordable price, what more could you ask for. It takes and makes great quality calls and will last a long time of regular use.

3. AT&T CL2940

Much like our top pick this corded phone is great quality and will deliver clear, crisp calls without any hassle. There are of course the added features of caller ID, a LCD display which is tiltable and extra-large buttons for ease of use. The LCD display doesn’t have any backlighting, unlike our top pick which makes it a little harder to use in low light.

Again the ringer is very loud and easily heard through multiple rooms and levels of the house. This model comes with a loudspeaker which provides loud audio playback and can be used for group calls with ease.

Call waiting is also a great feature seeing as this is a single line phone. We think that this is the best corded phone for home owners and offices.
